Amarnath Yatra

The Amarnath Yatra is one of the holiest pilgrimages in Hinduism, taking devotees to the Amarnath Cave Temple located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters (12,756 ft) in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Inside the cave, an ice stalagmite forms naturally and is believed to symbolize the Shiva Lingam. According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Lord Shiva revealed the secret of immortality to Goddess Parvati.

Amarnath Yatra is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir, where a naturally formed ice Shiva Lingam is worshipped. Devotees undertake the trek each year during July and August, braving rugged mountain paths to seek blessings from Lord Shiva.
